Camp Pringle is a United Church residential camp for children, youth and families, located on the western shores of Shawnigan Lake, a 45-minute drive north of Victoria. Our program and staff aim to model Christian values of care, acceptance, challenge, respect for diversity, and community. Our outdoor experience offers canoeing, archery, crafts, nature study, ropes course or climbing wall, skits, music, faith exploration, and games as part of our program.
PAID STAFF POSITIONS FOR 2012 The following positions are available at the George Pringle Memorial Camp for the 2012 summer camping season. All camp positions require energetic, enthusiastic, skillful leaders who are willing to contribute to the overall camp program and be part of a dedicated, collaborative staff team. Camp Pringle is a United Church residential camp for children, youth and families, located on the western shores of Shawnigan Lake, a 45-minute drive north of Victoria. Our program and staff aim to model Christian values of care, acceptance, challenge, respect for diversity, and community. Our outdoor experience offers canoeing, sailing, swimming, windsurfing, archery, crafts, nature study, skits, music, faith exploration, games, and out trips as part of our program. Our staff positions involve working primarily with children ages 8-14 and require staff to live on-site in staff accommodations in shared rooms. Room and board is included for all staff at no cost to employees. PLEASE NOTE: While there are application deadlines to assist us in filling the positions as early as possible, all available jobs will be posted on this site until filled. They are the person who basically runs the camp during the summer with the support of the Executive Director. Cabin Leaders are the people who supervise the campers day and night and really get to know each camper as the true and great individual that they are. Cabin Leaders lead all activities at camp with the exception of waterfront activities, Faith Quest and challenge course activities where they become support staff to the person who leads this camp. The primary role is in the kitchen but a positive cheerful attitude from the kitchen staff is essential to a positive camper experience and the Assistant Cooks are expected to be involved in other camp activities and be excellent role models for the campers. Expertise in operating video camera, digital camera and using video editing software are crucial to a successful application.
