Camp Pringle is a United Church residential camp for children, youth and families, located on the western shores of Shawnigan Lake, a 45-minute drive north of Victoria. Our program and staff aim to model Christian values of care, acceptance, challenge, respect for diversity, and community. Our outdoor experience offers canoeing, sailing, swimming, windsurfing, archery, crafts, nature study, skits, music, faith exploration, games, and out trips as part of our program.

THE NEW HST AND CAMP PRINGLE

Since the advent of the GST, Camp Pringle has always charged prices that included this tax so that you paid the price advertised. In 2010 there will be a new Harmonized Tax (HST) introduced in BC and Camps will be required to collect and remit this tax. The HST needs to be shown separately. In order to ease into the new tax, Camp Pringle will now be including the GST to our prices until the HST takes over and that amount will be added to the price.

NOTE: All program prices will be the price including GST UNTIL MAY 1, 2010. AFTER MAY 1, ALL PRICES WILL HAVE HST APPLIED.

SPRING BREAK CAMP 2010
CANCELLED

Camp Pringle prides itself on offering safe camping programs for children and youth. It is with great regret that we have determined that due to the major construction taking place at camp over the next year, it would be unadvisable to go ahead with our plans to host our “Under Construction” Spring Break Camp in 2010. Full refunds will be sent to those who have already registered and notices will be sent out to all the churches advising them of our decision. We apologize for anyone inconvenienced by this decision.

All of our summer programs will proceed as scheduled and we are very excited about our new program lineup.

SUMMER 2010 PROGRAMS

CIT - COUNSELOR IN TRAINING

Ages 16 and up

CIT 1 : July 5-9, July 12-16 and choice of week to Co-lead

$400 (includes GST);
after May 1: $426.66 (includes HST)

Building on the success of last summer, we are extending the leadership element of our CIT program over 2-weeks and increasing the number of students to 16 so that there won’t be so many dishes for participants. Be a leader! Learn what it takes to become a Cabin Leader at Camp and really explore team building and how to make activities fun. This program will help prepare you for leadership at camp or in your community while giving you the chance to enjoy being at camp. The first two weeks will combine leadership training and indoor service, i.e. cleaning the dishes, with a significant amount of time spent on our Low & High Ropes courses. You will also get some time shadowing the leaders in preparation for your choice week which will be spent co-leading in a cabin. You will be required to choose a week for mentored co-leading from the 5 remaining camps of the summer in order to complete the course. This summer CIT participants will be given a “pass” or “repeat” evaluation and those given a “pass” will be given top consideration for co-leading after the course is over and be in very good standing to be considered for staff positions (if over 18) in 2011. CIT participants who register before May 31 will receive a free personalized CIT sweatshirt that matches the staff sweatshirts (You must indicate your size and name or appropriate nick-name at registration and we cannot give refunds or accept returns on sweatshirts that don’t fit, so be sure you give us the correct size).
