IMPORTANT INFORMATION!
Children's Fitness Tax Credit

The Government of Canada proposes to allow, starting in 2007, a non-refundable tax credit on eligible amounts of up to $500 paid by parents to register a child in an eligible program of physical activity. This includes children's camps that take place over 5 consecutive days. We have been in touch with Revenue Canada, and it appears that the activities at Camp Pringle qualify for the tax credit. For more information, see this:

SUMMER 2008 PROGRAMS

Theme: "God the Builder"

CIT - COUNSELOR IN TRAINING

Ages 16 and up

CIT 1 : June 30 - July 4 and July 7-11
CIT 2 : July 7-11 and July 14-18

$400

NOTE: CIT registrants will be required to complete an application form and may be asked to come to an in-person interview.

Be part of the first group of 16 and older campers to experience the re-introduction of our intensive Counselor-in-Training Program.  This camp is for campers who would like to work as a summer staff member at Camp Pringle in the future.  The first week of this camp will be dedicated to intensive leadership training similar to that which the camp staff undergo before the summer.  The second week will be actual on-the-job training as you work as a co-leader for the week.   The program leaders will provide campers with a verbal evaluation after the first week and a comprehensive evaluation at the end of the second week.  An excellent evaluation will go a very long way to assisting with your future application at camp.  With only 8 spots per session we expect CIT to fill up early.  Campers accepted to the CIT program will receive a free volunteer T-shirt and a special CIT sweat top (we will need the correct size and full registration payment at least 3-weeks prior to camp to order your sweat top in time for camp - sorry no exchanges will be possible as the sweat top will be personalized). During CIT #2, priority will be given to female applicants as the practical experience will come during the Intermediate Girls’ Camp.

NOTE: For both camps, CIT Applicants must be 16 years old by June 30, 2008 to meet BCCA and UCC camping standards.

CIT Registrants who indicate their shirt size when registering, and register at least one month before the first day of camp, will receive a personalized Camp Pringle sweatshirt, similar to those worn by staff in addition to a volunteer t-shirt that you will get for your week as a co-leader

What is the Crew program? Three qualified Crew Leaders guide a group of Crew campers through two weeks of fun and challenging group experiences which include:

Service: (i.e. “Work!”) Without the Crew, nothing happens at camp! Get ready for washing dishes, painting, camp clean-up, building projects and a variety of other work projects. It’s great work experience, it’s actually FUN, and the camp loves you for doing it! (Don’t forget to bring your appropriate work clothes!)

Leadership and Personal Development: Learn leadership and develop communication skills, plus gain practical experience by organizing campfire, leading activities, and more! Learn about yourself and others in a close team environment.

Recreation: After a day’s work, it’s nice to kick back and relax! Hang out at the waterfront and take part in archery, hikes, campfire and other special events planned for you by the fearless Crew Leader team. Crew 2 will tent from Aug 4th to the 6th, so don’t forget to bring your foamies. Crews 1 & 3 can participate in teambuilding challenge activities on the Camp’s Pinnacle Ropes Course, and Crew 2 participants can join a special motorboat tubing activity offered during the Watersports Adventure Camp week.
