DESIGNS AND PLANS

Since 2004 the BC Conference of the United Church of Canada has been reviewing ways to better meet the challenges of outdoor ministry within the province. Their review determined the best way to meet this goal was to create 3 regional camps within BC, one in the interior (Grafton), one for the lower mainland (Fircom) and one for Vancouver Island (Pringle). The realization of this plan is now coming to fruition at Camp Pringle with the replacement of a few of our older less energy efficient buildings with some new buildings that match the ethos of camp.

In the following plans you will be able to see how the camp is addressing many of our needs, such as a dining hall suitable for the number of anticipated campers in the summer, a staff accommodation that will better serve the current and increased future staff numbers as well as an improved kitchen and food service design. In addition to improved practical design, we have also taken aesthetics into consideration. The new Branter building will retain the open arms look of the original lodge. The Spencer Hall replacement will be situated in a way that allows beautiful lake views from almost anywhere at camp, including the beautiful wrap-around deck on the new building.

During the building process, we will continue to update this site with any alterations in plans and with many pictures showing the buildings at various stages of construction. When all is completed we hope you will join us for our grand unveiling of the new buildings and the celebration of our 60th anniversary.
