branter deconstruction
What started as a casual comment from Richard to Paul Bailey of Ness Lake Bible Camp in the summer culminated in the aquiring then deconstruction and ultimately the transporting of Camp Pringle's beloved old Branter Lodge all the way to Echo Lake Bible Camp near Fort St. James in central British Columbia.
Paul Bailey, who spent approximately 17 years at Camp Pringle as a camper, crew, program director and caretaker, was able to organize up to 15 volunteers to descend on the camp and within 2-1/2 days completely label, deconstruct, stack and band, and clean up the old Branter site.
Ken Slade of Duncan United provided the truck transport to haul Bill Plumb's bobcat to load the truck which in turn was doing a donated return run all the way to the new site for the old Branter. It is nothing short of awe inspiring to observe and be part of such a concerted effort of people who have a vision and aim in sight and see it to its succesful conclusion, at least at this end.
It was amazing to watch.

DAY 2

DAY 3

PACKING AND LOADING
Each room was colour coded, every log was labeled on both ends to facilitate reassembly. How Brad (the truck driver) managed to get his “B” train rig into and out of the camp is still a mystery to me – it was just so long!!! But he did.
